2016 Dodge RAM 1500 Changes

Dodge Ram is a full size pick truck manufactured by the Chrysler Group since 1981. The vehicle is known for operating flawlessly in tough conditions both on road an off road, ability to tow heavy loads and for its reliability. The car is in its 4th generation production models now. The 2016 Dodge RAM 1500 design will be available in two different trim levels: Rebel and Laramie Limited Luxury Liner.

2016 Dodge RAM 1500 Changes

The 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 will feature a whole lot of cosmetic changes: new projector headlights, new LED fog lamps, a new dual snorkel aluminum hood from Ram Sport, and replacement of the characteristic crosshair grille by a RAM labeled grille. The car also comes with redesigned LED tail lamps, five inch high RAM label on the rear gate. In addition to these, 17 inch aluminum alloy wheels and Toyo Open Country 33 inch A/T tires have created an imposing design. The optional air suspension further raises the height by a full one inch. Five standard color options are being offered, with the standard black color with gray and red highlights for the interiors.

The interiors are adorned with a high tech central console, advanced infotainment setup and  Driver assists kit.


Power Train Specifications

The 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 will receive 3.6 liter V6 engine as the standard offering, which can produce about 305 horsepower and 269 lb ft of torque. The high performance version will be powered by a 5.7 liter V8 HEMI unit, capable of generating about 395 horsepower and 407 lb ft of torque.

The Laramie trim level will be offered in two different engine options: a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 with same power and torque output as that of the Rebel, and an optional offering of 3 liter EcoDiesel unit generating about 240 horsepower and 420 lb ft of torque.

Three engine offerings are expected on the Ram Laramie High Performance variant: 5.7 liter V8 hemi, 6.4 liter V8 HEMI and the Cummins six cylinder inline 6.7 liter turbo diesel.

No official word about the transmission system has been received. However, it is expected the 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 vehicle will be offered with an 8 speed automatic transmission system. 4 wheel drive feature will be offered on every model.

2016 Dodge RAM 1500 Diesel

The use of a lightweight frame using aerodynamic grille shutters, high strength steel, low rolling resistance tires, thermal management system and pulse width modulation for power accessories and modulator offers an enhanced fuel economy of 25 mpg on highway (17 inside city), best in its class. However, this means towing capacity is restricted.

The Ram Laramie trim level with EcoDiesel drive train can tow about 3583.38 kilograms of cargo while registering a fuel economy of 28 mpg on highways.

Other Features

Standard safety features includes airbags protection, hill climb assist, stability control coupled with a trailer sway system, rearview camera, rear parking sensors and an optional front parking sensors.

The advanced UConnect infotainment is available with a large 8.4 inch touch screen interface, allowing access to 3G data service, along with apps and Wi-Fi hotspot in 2016 Dodge Ram 1500. Voice activated navigation features; lane guidance, 3D terrain imaging, weather reports, etc are also available.
