2016 Dodge RAM 2500 Specs

The Ram 2500 has been praised for its towing and hauling abilities for years. It is currently one of the best choices in the heavy duty pickup truck segment, powered by the renowned Cummins turbodiesel V6. The news is that the 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 will be offered with the Laramie Limited trim for the first time. While the 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 HD’s version of the Cummins diesel unit is due to receive additional 35 lb-ft torque, the 2500 HD will carry over mechanically unchanged.

Thus far, the Laramie Limited trim level has been available only with the 1500 pickup trucks. Starting with the 2016 Dodge Ram 2500, this flashy looking version will be offered with the heavy duty line of trucks as well. This specific trim has been known for using huge amounts of chrome and its latest iteration has taken it to a new level. Instead of the brand’s signature crosshairs, the Laramie Limited model features a chrome „twin-nostril“ fascia. At the back, there is a huge RAM lettering mounted on the tailgate. Also, the 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Laramie Limited comes with sleek 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

In contrast with the shiny exterior, the cabin features a lot of premium black leather as well as dark wood trim. However, there are a few silvery accents such as piping on the uphostery and pinstripes within the wood trim. Also, expect to see wooden sliding doors covering the infotainment compartment within the center console.

2016 Dodge Ram 2500 Engine Specs

The 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 will be available with a choice of two gasoline V8 and a diesel V6 unit. The entry-level models come with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 rated at 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be reworked in order to run on compressed natural gas (CNG), although it comes at a greater cost. Those who opt for more power can pick the 6.4-liter V8 that generates 410 hp and 429 lb-ft. Of course, the most efficient engine will come as the 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel V6 that produces 350 hp and 660 lb-ft with manual transmission and 370 hp and 800 lb-ft with automatic transmission. While the gasoline versions come exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission, the diesel models are offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
