2017 Ford F-150 Hennessey

Hennessey Performance Engineering has been tuning performance-oriented vehicles for quite some time now. One of the particularly interesting models that comes from this company is the VelociRaptor that’s actually an upgraded version of the Ford SVT Raptor. To put it simply, Hennessey basically takes the regular F-150 truck and gives it an enormous amount of power and a far superior suspension. However, the VelociRaptor isn’t simply a pickup truck with heavy-duty bumpers, an upgraded version of the 5.0-liter V8 and the Fox Racing suspension. It offers plenty of other enhancements that make it virtually unbeatable when it comes to off-roading capabilities. With the arrival of the aluminum-intensive F-150, this American tuning house has been given an even more challenging task. So, the 2017 Ford F-150 Hennessey is expected to surpass its predecessor in many aspects.

2017 Ford F-150 Hennessey Features

In terms of styling, there are several features that set the VelociRaptor apart from the standard F-150 Crew Cab on which it’s based. The most noticeable ones come with the heavy-duty steel bumpers on both the front and rear sides of the truck. The front bumper incorporates driving lights, a winch, as well as recovery points, while the rear one sports such features as step pockets, LED lighting and lift points for a Hi-Lift jack. The sides are dominated by large fender flairs that serve as protection from flying debris, with 20-inch beadlock-style wheels to top off the VelociRaptor’s aggressive profile. There are also several places on the truck’s sheet metal that sport Hennessey and VelociRaptor graphics. As mentioned, the Fox Racing suspension parts make the 2017 Ford F-150 Hennessey ready for high-speed off-road driving.

The drivetrain components that are left intact include the electronically operated six-speed automatic transmission, two-speed transfer case and electronically locking rear differential. In order to protect the VelociRaptor’s under body from flying rocks, Hennessey’s engineers have given it sturdy skid plates.
