2017 Ford F-350 Next Generation

The F-350 together with the rest of the Super Duty lineup is expected to arrive thoroughly overhauled for the 2017 model year. To put it briefly, the 2017 Ford F-350 will be lighter and stronger than its predecessor. Of course, the new stiffer chassis will be accompanied by some notable visual changes as well. Although the official confirmation of the redesigned F Series has already arrived, the company is yet to release full specifications.

2017 Ford F-350 New Lightweight Platform

It turned out that speculations about the next-generation Super Duty lineup adopting lightweight aluminum body panels were true. The new high strength aluminum chassis didn’t come as much of a surprise since the F-150 had already implemented it with much success. The iconic F-150 pickup came lighter than its predecessor by impressive 700 lbs. As for the 2017 Ford F-350, it is expected to lose as much as 350 lbs compared to the outgoing version. Not only will the 2017 model be lighter, it will also be the strongest ever. This is mostly due to its thicker frames made from high strength steel, stronger axles and suspension components. Its weight loss combined with enhanced suspension and stronger drivetrain components will also result in improved hauling and towing capacity. More specific details on that matter are yet to be released.
