2017 Holden Colorado Release

According to reliable sources, the Holden Colorado is currently undergoing a major facelift slated to make its debut in 2016 for the 2017 model year. Now, the model sold in Australia and New Zealand differs from its American cousin to some extent. Once it hits the dealerships, the 2017 Holden Colorado will be facing some formidable rivals. Namely, these markets have recently seen several pickup truck premieres, including the all-new Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara and Mitsubishi Triton. The likes of the Ford Ranger and Mazda BT-50 will have received facelifts by the time of the updated Colorado’s arrival.

2017 Holden Colorado Updates

Based on a couple of recently taken spy photos, the 2017 Holden Colorado is due to receive a number of structural and visual changes. Although the test prototypes were heavily camouflaged, we have been able to establish that the Colorado’s front end will be affected the most by the upcoming facelift. Expect to see a reshaped bumper and a revised grille flanked by new headlights and fog lights. The rear end, as well as the rest of the sheet metal, seems to retain the current shape. However, the images also reveal that Holden’s engineers are working on certain alterations of the vehicle’s rear chassis rails. That probably means the upcoming Colorado will come with improved towing and payload capacities in order to compete with its redesigned rivals.

As for the engine department, the 2017 Colorado is expected to carry over basically unchanged. It will once again be motivated by the 2.8-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine. It can be had either with two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive that operates through a two-speed transfer.

The 2017 Holden Colorado will once again be offered in Single Cab, Space Cab and Crew Cab configurations. More details concerning the updated model and its release date have yet to be revealed by the company. We expect it to go on sale in late 2016.
