2017 Isuzu D-Max Mid-cycle Update

According to reliable sources, Isuzu’s D-Max pickup truck is due to undergo a mid-cycle update in 2016. Several pictures that have recently surfaced on a Thai website reveal a facelifted version of this popular truck. The list of changes expected from the 2017 Isuzu D-Max includes both interior and exterior updates, as well as an all-new diesel engine. Some reports suggest that the facelifted truck is likely to hit the European showrooms in December 2016. The second generation of the D-Max made its debut in 2012, sharing most of its components with the 2013 Chevrolet Colorado. Although Isuzu’s truck borrows its ladder chassis, mechanical parts and interior design from its American sibling, it actually features a unique visual identity. After the upcoming update, the popular truck is expected to broaden its appeal on the Asian and European markets.

2017 D-Max Exterior and Interior Changes

As for the exterior styling, expect the 2017 Isuzu D-Max to bring a new grille, LED daytime running lights and redesigned bumpers. It will also adopt a reshaped hood, while the tailgate is expected to receive a whole new design. The upcoming interior changes include a number of trim updates that should help this truck stay competitive for a few more years. Now, the technological improvements will come with a new infotainment system equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen display as well as roof-mounted loudspeakers.

 Mechanical Upgrades

Official engine specifications have yet to be released but some reports have recently announced a brand new engine to replace the current one. Namely, the Isuzu D-Max 2017 is slated to receive a new diesel engine that meets Euro 6 standards. As for the European specification model, it is likely to receive a 1.9-liter twin-turbo unit instead of the current 2.5-liter unit. This particular engine is rumored to arrive with 10 per cent more power and 9 per cent more torque than its predecessor. Now, the model aimed at the Australian market is expected to have its Euro 4-compliant 3.0-liter single-turbo diesel replaced by a Euro 5-compliant 2.5-liter twin-turbo diesel engine. In any case, the new 1.9-liter engine is expected to bring lower emissions, with some sources announcing 162 g/km instead of the current 192 g/km.

2017 Isuzu D-Max Release Date

As mentioned above, most of the world markets should expect the 2017 Isuzu D-Max to arrive by the end of 2016. Unfortunately, detailed pricing figures are still unavailable.
