2017 Mitsubishi L200 Release Date

The 2017 Mitsubishi L200 is due to arrive only a year after the fifth generation of this truck made its global debut at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show. In that sense, the upcoming model is not likely to bring any dramatic changes when it comes to its design, features and mechanics. The 2017 L200 is expected to inherit a slew of upgrades from its immediate predecessor. After spending almost a decade on the market, the new generation of this popular pickup truck brought a more refined styling without compromising the toughness for which it has been known over the years. It’s interesting to note that the Japanese automaker offers this model on the Asian market under the Triton nameplate, while Fiat has recently announced its own L200-based model to arrive as the Fullback truck.2017 Mitsubishi L200

2017 Mitsubishi L200 Engine Specs

Of course, the most important improvement that came with the fifth-generation L200 is its all-new engine. Expect the 2017 Mitsubishi L200 to use the same 2.4-liter diesel unit available with two different outputs. The base models will be powered by the variant that generates 151 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. Those who opt for more power should go for the version that churns out 178 hp and 317 lb-ft of twist. In addition to the new engine under its hood, the L200 also gets an all-new six-speed manual transmission, while there is a paddle-shift automatic option as well. Thanks to these mechanical updates, the new L200 will be more eco-friendly than its predecessor. Namely, the CO2 emissions have dropped from 199 g/km to 169 g/km.

2017  L200 Design and Features

Although the new L200 came with redesigned front and rear ends, it actually doesn’t stray too far from the previous model as far as the exterior design is concerned. Its new front fascia boasts a sleeker grille, LED daytime running lights and lots of chrome accents, while the rear end comes with a more conventional look. As for the interior design, expect the 2017 Mitsubishi L200 to offer a highly improved cabin with more passenger space than you could find in the previous version. Some of the features available with the new model include full-time four-wheel drive, traction control, stability control and hill-start systems. When it comes to the safety features, expect such amenities as lane departure warning as well as seven airbags throughout the cabin.

Although the official release date for the 2017 Mitsubishi L200 is yet to be announced, we expect it to hit the market in mid-2016.
