2017 Nissan NP300 Navara

The all-new NP300 was first revealed in Thailand in June 2014, while it made its European debut at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show. Apart from receiving the new NP300 moniker, the Navara pickup truck came with a bevy of substantial changes and upgrades. It’s important to note that Euro-spec model will differ from the version aimed at the Thai market. The Japanese automaker has managed to make the Navara more comfortable and more efficient than ever. Some of the recent reports suggest that the 2017 Nissan NP300 Navara is due to hit the European showrooms in January 2016.

Engine Specifications

The 2017 Nissan NP300 Navara will be much more fuel-efficient and eco-friendly than its previous iteration. Expect it to host Renault-Nissan’s 2.3-liter dCi engine that was specifically designed for commercial vehicles. While its single-turbo variant produces 158 hp (118 kW), the twin-turbo makes 187 hp (140 kW). Available transmission options include a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic. Thanks to its revised rear suspension, the new Navara’s ride comfort and handling have improved significantly. While the Double Cab model comes with five-link rear suspension, the King Cab uses an enhanced version of the leaf spring configuration.

 Design and Features

The 2017 Nissan NP300 Navara comes with a refreshed styling both inside and outside. As for the new sheet metal, it adopts Nissan’ latest design philosophy with such elements as the signature V-motion grille and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The cabin design now feels much more like that of a crossover model and offers an exceptionally comfortable ride. Some of the new features include dual-zone digital climate control and rear cab ventilation. When it comes to safety systems, expect to see Cruise Control, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control. The NP300 Navara will also be available with keyless entry, rear camera and parking sensors, while the segment-first features include Forward Emergency Braking and Around View Monitor.

2017 Nissan NP300 Navara Competition and Price

The 2017 Nissan NP300 Navara’s main rivals will come in the form of the recently redesigned Mitsubishi L200 and Volkswagen Amarok. The UK-sold version has recently been announced to start at £18,376, which is cheaper than the competition.
