2018 Ford Raptor Release Date

Rumor has it that the 2018 Ford Raptor is being prepared to adopt a new twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8. The F-150 Raptor has been around since 2010 as one of the most capable pickup trucks available on the market. Although it has already become synonymous with high-performance and excellent off-road abilities, it seems that Ford is determined to make this amazing truck even more impressive in the coming years. The American automaker has been working on the Twin-Turbo V8 for quite some time, preparing it for the all-new GT500. In addition to the brand new engine, the upcoming Raptor is also very likely to benefit from the enhancements that are expected to find their place in the standard 2018 F-150.

2018 Ford Raptor Specs

Of course, the most important upgrade coming with the 2018 Ford Raptor is its twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8. Exact output numbers have yet to be revealed but we expect this unit to deliver more horsepower than ever. Besides the latest addition to the engine lineup, the Raptor will retain its familiar 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 as the base unit. The engine generates 450 horsepower mated with the ten-speed automatic transmission, which should also be offered with the new twin-turbo V8. Other significant upgrades expected from the 2018 Raptor include Ford’s latest Terrain Management System and the new Torque-on-Demand transfer case. Thanks to these enhancements, the upcoming version of the famous Raptor will take things to a whole new level when it comes to the performance of a pickup truck.

2018 Raptor Design

In terms of styling, the 2018 Ford Raptor will be easily distinguishable from the standard variant of the F-150 pickup truck. Perhaps the most noticeable styling cue that sets the Raptor apart is the huge FORD lettering that covers most of the vehicle’s front end. The Raptor also features extra 6 inches in width and raised front and rear bumpers that facilitate the off-road performance for which it has been renowned. Among other unique features, expect to see a large front skid plate as well as reshaped front fender air vents. At the back, there is also the familiar FORD block-lettering with addition of new dual exhaust tips. Of course, the Raptor will once again be offered in SuperCab and SuperCrew body styles. Those who opt for a more capacious cabin should definitely go for the latter version that comes with a wheelbase extended by 12 inches.

According to unofficial sources, the 2018 Ford Raptor could hit the dealerships by the second half of 2017.
