The new Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will not appear before mid-2018. Namely, it is hard to expect Toyota to offer this version of its pickup model for the 2018 model year. However, there is information that the 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will be on offer, along with new creations of Tundra pickup and 4Runner SUV models.
After almost certain that Toyota will offer Tundra and 4Runner models with the “TRD Pro” label, information about the third model from this family is expected. Specifically, for the 2018 model year, information on such editions of popular Toyota models is not clear. For now, everything comes down to mischief, semi-information and rumors.
This Japanese car maker has prepared a new, updated Tacoma pickup for 2018 MY. The start of sales is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018. Only when the standard model is sold is it possible to expect new TRD Pro version of this pickup. It’s almost certain that this version will be on offer, as Toyota has great expectations from the new model. The company does not hide plans to make the 2018 model the best-selling compact pickup in America. Recall, this epithet has already been taken by earlier models. Accordingly, the new TRD Pro version will be the company’s flagship.
Power Specification and Price
The currently available model has a 3.5-liter V6 unit with 6-speed manual transmission and AWD. This power unit delivers 278 horsepower. Many believe that in this area there will be no progress, with the 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro pickup. The only thing that can be expected is the improvement of the economy of the existing aggregate, as well as the improvement of the transmission. With a standard manual gearbox, Toyota also offers an optional automatic gearbox.
As far as the price is concerned, there is not any significant move forward. The current model has a price of $ 41,000. The price for the new Tacoma TRD Pro should remain at the same level.
News and Upgrades
The same process, which is applied to the improvement of the standard model, will be applied to the new TRD Pro version. The company tried to improve the vehicle at every level. Nevertheless, the greatest attention is devoted to the improvement of security systems and functions. Accordingly, the new model gets Safety Sense-P suite.
As for standard versions, they are not sensational. The new Tacoma comes with an engine producing 170 horsepower but a stronger torque of 350 pound-feet. Similar, if not better, figures also have other competitive models on the North American market. However, the company points out that 2018 Tacoma will be significantly more efficient and more economical than the competition.
2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro Design and Features
The new model will not be significantly different from the previous versions. Namely, it will continue to be based on the Tacoma TRD Off-Road 4×4 Double Cab Short Bed. According to the tried-and-tested recipe, the vehicle gets significant driving strength in extreme conditions and on inaccessible terrain. Among other things, there are special sports shock absorbers and TRD springs, as well as TRD twisted support. In addition, special TRD aluminum wheels of 16 inches are expected in black. According to some information, the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires will be on wheels. All this has already been seen in the current model, but also in some earlier editions of this model.
All in all, Toyota wants to maintain the originality and recognition of its TRD Pro models. Thus, the 2019 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro will offer what we are accustomed to. There is a large number of decorations and details for the outer appearance of the vehicle. They are mostly aluminum decorations, as well as a black front grille with a “Toyota” inscription. In addition, the LEDs’ appearance of the vehicle is decorated with LED foam-lights, black fender edges, while the door handles and rear-view mirrors are color-coded.
And in the interior of the vehicle is expected recognizable “TRD Pro” spirit. There is a large number of decorations and details with the “TRD” label. Seats have elements of top quality leather. The entire interior of the vehicle boasts rich equipment and a great number of amenities and aesthetic details.
What should not be missing is a large number of the most advanced systems and technologies. As with the previous versions, the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro 2019 should have Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), the last Park Assist system, as well as navigation and the Go Pro camera integrated into the windscreen.
